going anon bc idk how safe this space is: I heavily dislike bad sans poly, for a multitude of reasons

- most of it would be abusive as all hell (horror would despise them all and be as petty and cruel as he can, murder would be neglectful in the relationship and hateful, killer would struggle to build a bond to anyone because he knows if nightmare loses the need of them, they're dead, and anyone else would really be the same)

- I never... understood/dislike poly stuff all together, no offense.

I’d say it’s safe, a lot of us seem to know how to agree to disagree around here. I don’t know how’d it be if posts ever accidentally left the circle though.

But yeah I agree. Maybe not exactly for the reasons you give, mostly because I don’t feel familiar with horror and dust quite yet to say, but because I hate nightmare and the thought of him being able to bag any hoes—let alone three baddies—is sickening. He don’t deserve them ong.

And also I hate the way killer is depicted in almost all interpretations, most people only tend to focus on pairs than the whole, and honestly it’s kinda overrrated and convoluted to me.

And also I hate shipping Nightmare with the person he’s at least canonically abused and used and dehumanized and terrorized the hell out of. Killer will always have to carry a reputation out into the Multiverse exactly because of Nightmare. He will always be isolated. Viewed as a threat, a snake in the grass just waiting to strike.

People would never trust him. They’d look at him with disgust and anger and fear. Some would even try to kill and hurt or control him or “fix” him. They’d want to lock him up or even kill him because of what he had to do under Nightmare.

No one was going to save him. He’s lucky three people even tried and offered to help. He could’ve died under Nightmare and people would’ve cheered. All because of how Nightmare used him for his own ends.

AS PER MY LAST POST

I know what you're here for. You're here for them specific Magic flavors. Well I've actually thought some up! And I'm gonna spill them beans.

Starting from the top? We have Red! Red's magic has a bit of a crackling, popping sensation, with a slight fizz, befitting of the barely contained firecracker of a monster. Barely sour at the very start, but very sweet once you get past that. A faint reminisce of sour cherry poprocks found, along with warm fuzzy soda, and the warmth and joy of experiencing something in safety.

Essentially, the sweetness of cherry winds up being the most tactful 'flavor' that can be discerned.

Now for Baggs! Baggs' magic has a light, and airy sensation. A lazy cloud to rest upon, and feel comforted by. Fluff and fuzz that hazes the mind, but in a welcoming way. A sweetness that only concerns you at first, the mere thought of it being unhealthy done away, at the first taste of that sweetness upon your tongue, as it melts and leaves you wanting more.

Baggs is someone who likely has a lot of control in the department of what he's letting out. Which makes it completely ironic that his flavor and magic's feeling is akin to something he's never actually tasted; Cotton Candy.

Now onto Dirge (My bbyyyyyyyyy)

Dirge's magic has a bit of a low, down to earth feeling. A damp, but exciting forest full of foliage. Yours to roam, yours to explore. Feelings of furs to keep warm in the darkness, and excitement at the prospect of making a nest. Tart berries harvested from prickly seeming bushes. Warmth and excitement, intoxicating excitement upon feeling fed. A desire to gather, to feed, to protect is potent. Blackberries perfectly reflect the sort of wild and free animalistic nature Dirge has.

And last but not least for now, Sonia! (Normal Magic, DESPAIR gets it's own flavor later.) Despite not naturally making her own, Sonia can utilize some magic, by either consuming monster food/seed, or being in an area with high levels of ambient magic. And yes, she's learned to create... Appendages with it.

Sonia's magic is soothing, warmth. A cool breeze on a hot summer day. A moment of resting beneath the boughs of a tree to get shelter from the sun. Watching the wind blow through the grass and along sunflowers standing tall. The soft sweetness of chilled melons with so much juice, it trickles down your chin. Gentle respite, and peace.

Yeap, Sonia's magic flavor is melons. So many jokes can indeed be made about this. LMAO

heyy! thought i'd make a lil debut/intro to my canon utmv (named blue's verse bc i am So Original) starting from night and the gang :]

Killer goes by Shiv while Horror goes by Axe based on their main weapons. Dust goes by Lav, short for Lavender. Nightmare still uses the same name, but the boys always call him Night :]

clothing notes (and extras):

Shiv is the one with the most fashion sense, but even he's been lazy and decided to just walk around wearing a funny t-shirt and shorts sometimes. Definitely the one who gets everyone clothes during supply runs (yes he's fashion besties with plum). Likes clothes with many pockets for storage, too! Whether that's got snacks or daggers in them, you'll just have to dig around yourself /lh

Axe wears lumberjack/farmer-esque clothing to hint at his connection to Farmtale! Farmtale is protected by Nightmare (in secret) as it harbors the last of Horrortale's survivors— the AU was too corrupted to sustain itself— while also being the Crescents' main food supply. The patched jeans and sleeveless vest are actually gifts from the Farm brothers. Them and Axe (+ Axe's brother, Oak) are very close, subsequently making Farmtale a second home to the Crescents.

Lav prefers oversized clothing and probably likes to use weighted blankets to ground himself. Shiv dresses him up most, and Lav just tells him to get dark/neutral clothes with purple accents for him. It feels nice to be taken care of. Usually wears a beanie/cap when he’s at home and is without his hood (has the shortest tail out of the trio, hides it well).

Night prefers fancy-casual because he knows how it feels to wear clothes that didn't fit/weren't comfy for him (still has his old crown, somewhere..). Definitely wears a nightrobe at home too. Technically the necklace is a vial of his own negativity(?) extracted by Sci. I wanted to make it so that everyone else has that on certain charms/pendants infused with that same negativity to act as a hidden tracker for Night to pinpoint where his boys are (and his own necklace could act as an emergency booster if Night gets too weak)

(a/n: had this one in the drafts for months and i just wanted to get it published so i skipped out on Nightmare. so sorry this took so long, i hope you’re doing well anon! anyway, im hoping to get back into the writing groove. we’ll see how this goes.)

undertale:

sans:

-“hey, i’m sorry… c’mere.”

-he would engulf you in a hug, if you’re okay with hugs

-while he’s happy you’ve gotten out of a bad relationship, he’s still sad with what you had to go through.

-he’ll make puns to cheer you up, however many it takes.

-he for sure takes you out to eat at grillby’s.

-he’s there to be a listener, a shoulder to cry on, and someone to go to whenever you’re feeling particularly down.

papyrus:

-“a BAD relationship? human, why didn’t you tell me earlier?”

-he’s so sad. his best friend? being in an unhappy relationship? WITHOUT telling him? he’s distraught.

-he cooks for you breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

-he does literally everything in his power to make you happy

-it doesn’t matter what time it is. you call him, he’ll come.

-he’d do anything to see you smile

Underfell

Sans:

-“about damn time you left that douche,” he grumbled.

-“Red, not the time.”

-he rolled his eyelights.

-“fine, fine. whatever.”

-his face turned a little softer.

-“anything i can do for ya?”

-he would do a lot. he’d complain about it the whole time, but if you asked, chances are he’d do it.

Papyrus:

-his eyes narrowed.

-“you say they mistreated you?”

-he sighs when you nod.

-“alright, come inside.”

-he moved out of the door frame so you can enter. he gestures towards his couch.

-“sit down. i’ll make you some tea.”

-he comes back a few minutes later with tea for you both. he seems slightly annoyed when you blow on it, despite it being scalding hot.

-he’d listen to anything you wanted to say to him about it.

-after that, you never see your ex again…. strange, they lived very close to you…

-oh, well.

Underswap

Sans:

-“a bad relationship, you say? why didn’t you tell me sooner?”

-he listens to you, anything you want to cent

-he gives his best advice on how to not end up in a situation like that again

Papyrus:

-“want me to beat ‘im up for ya?” he would jokingly ask.

-but he’d do it for real, if you wanted him to.

-he’d drag you onto his couch and watch all your favorite movies with you until you both fell asleep.

-he’ll provide you with all your favorite snacks.

-he’d stay up late with you while you cried, and do his best to comfort you.

-he has shockingly good advice.

Horrortale:

Sans:

-he seems taken aback.

-you weren’t happy in your relationship? this whole time?

-that hole in his head affected him more than he initially thought. he couldn’t even tell his best friend was struggling.

-he’d feel super guilty about that.

-you’d also have to hold him back by his good to keep him from charging after your ex.

-after he finally calmed from his anger, he’d be there, open arms and willing to help.

Papyrus:

-“i see. come inside.”

-definitely cooking all of your favorite foods for you, listening while you vent and cry.

-he doesn’t have much advice, but he does his best.

-offers for you to stay the night (or as long as you want).

-he does his best to cheer you up, even with his physical limitations.

Dreamtale:

Sans:

-he freezes.

-how had he never noticed?

-suddenly, everything clicked for him. the way he had been sensing more and more negativity from you since you and your ex had gotten together. how you always brushed the topic off, saying it was work or family matter.

-the way you had pushed him away.

-he snapped himself back to reality, offering for you to come inside.

-obviously it didn’t take him long to cheer you up. it took longer to heal, but he’ll make this right for you.

Saw a post of yours talking about how if Nightmare died, Dream would turn to the Guardian of ALL Feelings. Would there be even the slightest chance Nightmare would become that if Dream died? And what would be his reaction? I can imagine him so confused, and it's a bit funny tbh

Ok, so if one of the twins die, the other becomes responsible for the balance of positivity and negativity by default, so if Dream dies, Nightmare is the guardian of all emotions by default and Nightmare knows this

But here’s the twist, being a guardian is a choice, a choice neither twins really had the opportunity to make for themselves since they were born, and while one decided that it suited him and that he’d embrace it and consider himself a guardian (Dream), the other rejected it and saw it as beneath him and that he deserves a proper title such as king (Nightmare)

So would Nightmare deem himself guardian after Dream’s death? No, he wouldn’t, he hasn’t deemed himself one since his corruption, he no longer sees himself as a guardian, but as a king

He’d be the king of all emotions, and a crule king at that, he wouldn’t really care enough about the balance to keep positivity around, he’d spread negativity as much as possible to become as powerful as possible, and any sort of positivity left, would be in far places in the multiverse that no one can reach easily

I view positivity and negativity as constructs, one can never truly and genuinely extinguish positivity completely, Nightmare can’t truly and genuinely extinguish it fully, but he can corrupt it, as Nightmare’s glee at the misery of others is in of itself a form of positivity, it’s a toxic one, but still positivity nonetheless

And another thing about positivity and negativity, is that I love to believe they aren’t only something that can be found in just living beings, but it also connects to time and space itself, an entire Au could be a negative universe in of itself even if the people inside are happy and filled with positivity

Idk how to explain it, but know how history leaves its marks for so long it enegraves itself into a specific time period or a place? Pretty much that but with positivity and negativity

To give you an example, let’s talk about Dreamtale, it’s an universe that’s tragic in nature, regardless of the fact the twins were happy for a period of time or the fact it was a peaceful universe at first, the universe had dealt with a lot of bullshit for it to be a “positive Au”

Same thing with Something New, or Dusttale, or Horrortale, these universes are negative ones in their very essence, they’re way too scarred to be considered “positive” even when Something New returned back to its original roots and everyone is alive and well

My point is that universes can be positive , negative, or a balanced mix of both

That means Nightmare can’t really do anything about the positivity that’s engraved into of those positive or mixed universes, but he can tip the scale by spreading negativity inside the universes themselves

Which is what Nightmare’s been doing and will continue to do after Dream’s death, Nightmare’s no guardian, he’s a ruler of all emotions

As for some of the internal…

Sans (Undertale): He’s a friendly guy, definitely not wearing his heart on his sleeve or getting super deep with anybody right away (…or possibly ever…), but he likes getting to know people and figuring out what they’re all about, and that does involve some amount of being approachable.

Papyrus (Undertale): He’s often been a little lacking in the friends department, so he always puts his best foot forward with new people—that way, they know from the jump they’ve just met a fun, cool guy who’s prime friend-material, and whatever they decide after that, they at least have the facts!

Sky (Underswap Sans): Perhaps surprisingly he’s not inclined to be open or intimate with people right from the start, but he fully believes in getting back what you put out into the universe, so of course he’s friendly and polite with everyone as a matter of course, unless given a reason otherwise.

Paps (Underswap Papyrus): He doesn’t have a whole lot of ingrained, well-developed social skills, and he’s had some not-so-great experiences with friendship in the past, so while he’s never rude if he can help it, he does hold himself back a fair bit and instinctively ducks the attention of new people…

Jasper (Underfell Sans): He’s a pretty social guy and prefers not to have enemies if he can help it, so he’s the ‘funny guy, seems decent, nothing to worry about’ wherever possible, rarely vulnerable or openly real with people, especially strangers—but is that really so egregious?

Pyre (Underfell Papyrus): He’s vigilant to potential threats, he’s been burned (or rather scarred) one too many times trusting people just because they seem harmless or nice, so while he won’t be cruel to someone new without cause, neither will he be all that open to them until they’ve earned it.

Mal (Swapfell Sans): He trusts basically no one and expects everyone he meets may someday stab him in the back if it might benefit them—but one of the best ways he’s found to combat that is by being charming and friendly and helpful, so that people at least think twice about it first.

Rus (Swapfell Papyrus): People are terrifying, he has no idea how to talk to them and usually ends up putting his foot in his mouth…especially when he’s nervous, which is most of the time he’s in a social situation—and that’s presuming they’re even nice people, which is not always the case in his experience, so…yeah…

Slate (Horrortale Sans): He never entirely knows what reaction he’s gonna get, with his size and how he looks, so he tends to hedge his bets around new people, steer a little clear and leave room to be avoided if it’s the more comfortable option…better for preventing explicitly negative reactions that aren’t great for his self-esteem.

Papy (Horrortale Papyrus): Kill them with kindness, he always says…except he doesn’t ever say that, but it’s a good saying, he should say it more because everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect as the default—or at least the benefit of the doubt until they prove otherwise!

Ash (Undergloom Sans): He’s a bit of a social lurker, likes to be around groups but he’s pretty quiet so he reads as shy or a loner to new people. It just takes him a bit to get comfortable chatting and quipping since he likes to pick his moments, and that's less about the stranger(s) and more just about how he rolls.

Yrus (Undergloom Papyrus): He loves to meet new people and always does his best to make a good first impression, very friendly and full of offers to be a helping hand right from the start. While he won’t bend over backwards for a relative stranger, he will go pretty far out of his way in the name of good will—to say nothing of how he is once he actually gets to know someone!

Brick (Horrorfell Sans): It’s less that he doesn’t want to socialize than it is him not trusting himself to, certain things set him off and it’s not a pretty scene when that happens, so until he knows what kind of people he’s dealing with, it’s generally better that he keep a little distance—at least initially.

King (Horrorfell Papyrus): He’s largely uninterested in other people and explicitly not looking for any friends, so the attitude he has approaching those kinds of interactions is usually curt and aloof—in most cases, he has nothing to fear and nothing he’s interested in gaining, so basic acknowledgment is most of what he gives.

Merc (Horrorswap Sans): He’s a little less approachable-looking than he used to be, but still definitely wants to talk to people and make some friends, so he puts a little extra effort in to be kind and express interest. His general aim is to cast a wide net and see if he can't catch somebody longer term.

Ell (Horrorswap Papyrus): He’s selective about the kinds of people he wants around him, not inclined to go out of his way to be a dick to strangers, but he’s not really putting his best foot forward with everybody—and frankly, he’s got limited ‘don’t say something thoughtless and/or rude’ energy, he just can’t be spending it all on randos…

Pitch (Horrorswapfell Sans): He’s using his charm for evil for personal reasons these days, he likes making connections and having a good time, and being friendly and gregarious (even with strangers) is a great way to facilitate that—which isn’t to say he really trusts any of those people, or wants them around a lot, but why make enemies unless it’s fun?

Nemo (Horrorswapfell Papyrus): He’s got trust issues, it’s nothing personal, just hard for him to figure out how safe any given stranger is…and from there, to convince himself of it, because logic says one thing and anxiety says another and who really knows which one is right. He’s not rude, but definitely quiet and standoffish, slow to engage.

Sunny (Gastertale Sans): Strangers won’t be strangers for long, he has a habit of making friends out of people most anywhere he goes. He can come back from even the most random places with a new bud to introduce—it could almost be terrifying if it wasn’t just kinda bizarre, but he loves people! That's all it is!

Aster (Gastertale Papyrus): He’s very charming and sociable, always interested in meeting someone new and making a connection, hearing all about their lives and interests… A lot of it is, admittedly, very calculated as he actively chameleons to try and get a good grade in Normal Person, but it’s still genuine in intention if not something he naturally comes by.

Spectr (Transcendtale Sans): He’s not really looking to make friends, but he doesn’t have an especially strong aversion to people either. He kind of just accepts it as an inevitability that he’ll encounter them, do the bare minimum of whatever social contract the situation requires, and then be on his way. Not much else to it.

PapAIrus (Transcendtale Papyrus): He loves meeting people and being social and showing off, receiving the praise and adulation of the masses on occasion, but he rarely makes any kind of effort to cultivate or even leave room for anything further. He’s fun and kind to most everyone, just not often interested in investing any more than surface-level.

Xanth (Ascendswap Sans): He’ll happily talk to and try to befriend strangers all day long, he sees something beautiful and interesting in everyone—and that can get him into trouble sometimes with people who are put off by his enthusiastic interest, or with those who catch on that he’s a huge people-pleaser and would give the shirt off his back if asked, but…it’s just how he is.

Piper (Ascendswap Papyrus): He’s a self-made Prince Charming down to his marrow, he’s great with new people and loves to chat and charm and network wherever possible. …He does hold a lot back and keep his guard up, only really getting comfortable with people after a long while, but that doesn’t stop him from being warm and polite in the meantime.

Carmine (Underfell Fruition Sans): Strangers are just buddies he hasn’t met yet, he’s been locked up in solitary so long that any opportunity to run his mouth is more than welcome—though occasionally, he will get a gut feeling about somebody, usually if they’re real bad news, and he doesn’t listen to a lot of things, but hey, his gut’s never wrong.

Tank (Underfell Fruition Papyrus): Meeting people and socializing with them was decidedly not part of his training, but while he doesn’t have a lot of familiarity or skill built up for it, neither is it especially distressing to him. He may be spoken to, he will respond as necessary, and otherwise…? Just monitor the situation and act if appropriate.

Vi (Swapfell Fruition Sans): Not very fond of people in general but especially not strangers, he doesn’t like to be the subject of any special notice, so around new people he tends avoid being central to any conversation and does his best to just blend into the background…or to escape entirely, if that’s feasible…

Hunter (Swapfell Fruition Papyrus): He’s good with strangers, anything and anyone new is cool and he likes scoping ‘em out, seeing if they might be fun. At least early on, any investment on his part is selfish and generally centered around what he might be able to get out of it, but that doesn’t make him seem any less mischievously fun to the people he charms.

Kohl (Descendtale Sans): He does not like strangers at all, no matter how friendly and harmless they may seem to be. He mostly keeps his distance but tries to stay aware of what anybody he doesn’t know is doing, sizing them up and—if their character allows for it—gradually becoming accustomed to them until he’s willing to count them as something other than threat/nuisance/inconvenience.

Bram (Descendtale Papyrus): If he ever learned the phrase ‘stranger danger,’ he’s willfully forgotten it, everyone is a friend unless they prove otherwise and he will engage them as such! He definitely has a tendency to come on a little strong, which can sometimes be off-putting, but he’s immediately ready to go above and beyond for anyone willing to match his energy.

Thinking about Dreamtale and how the "negative au" vs. "positive au" territories work. Like always, lots of ramblings under the read more

Like I feel when things are in balance, no au is inherently positive or negative. With resets, any timeline is capable of moments of great happiness but also great tragedy. The thing is, they're fluid and ever changing. Even if you do the genocide route, it only mucks up the happy ending. But that's just the ending, which is never permanent anyway.

I feel like the only way for an au to become truly positive or negative, even the rough and tumble aus like fells, is if you forcibly give them an ending or actively alter something so you can't "play" anymore.

Imagine Nightmare cultivating entire timelines to do this. Horror timelines could be a great example. A perminant ending to the original that spirals on so much longer than it should with EVERYONE being as miserable as possible and often doing things against their own best interest because they're reaching a breaking point. Imagine corrupting timelines, forcing more and more negative emotions into a Sans until he snaps and becomes Dust.

Hell, it could be part of the reason Nightmare is so particular with any Killers he has. Because it's such a specific thing of having his soul twisted by a player/creator, Nightmare can’t influence or force that to happen. He needs to have a tighter leash on him because he's so much harder to replace. It doesn’t matter how much he alters a timeline, a home grown Killer is impossible.

It also adds more into what "missions" can be. It's not just going in and killing a bunch of people at random. Dead people don't feel emotions, positive or negative. But remove the possibility of a happy ending? Remove just the right person so the dominos in the background don't fall or make someone snap, so they never trust the human no matter what they do, all so that a true pacifistending would be impossible no matter what you did. Maybe even somehow softlocking the human so everyone is stuck in a permanent miserable limbo no matter how often they reset to try and fix it.

And then you have Dream and his "positive aus". These are obviously the ones that get happy endings, the post pacifist where Frisk promises to never reset and everyone lives their days out on the surface in harmony. The ones where everyone is happy and healing and okay.

This can be part of why Ink helps him at first. Creators like making these happy ending aus and Nightmare, of course, would want to sow seeds of political discourse to turn the surface into hell. Dreams stops that, forcing things to turn out fine again and with Ink's help, ensure the happy aus stay on track.

But that's also where Ink and Dream clash. Dream sees a Horrortale and wants to attempt to fix it, but the thing is people love making horror aus. Maybe the first few Ink is fine with fixing up because these one were MEANT to be those softer interpretations that you see floating around. But then Dream comes across one that is truly rotten, something that's more canon compliant to the original horrortale comic, maybe even worse, and Ink stops him from doing anything. such a thing would go against what the creator wants the world to be. When it comes to the bad sanses, there’s so many things to be explored, but I want to point out something I never see addressed

SOULS.

They all have COMPLETELY different SOULs;

Nightmare: Nightmare is a being that is a lot different from other monsters. He is basically a god, with a SOUL that holds great importance in relation to the multiverse they all live in, it’s an embodiment of negativity and corruption. Not to mention, Nightmare originally HAD no SOUL (same as Dream, as their entire body was magic, more so than normal, thus essentially being their SOUL) and this is a result of absorbing/ becoming the multiverse’s negativity.

Killer: Killer’s SOUL has been mutilated and twisted out of shape, it visibly and by nature is a “corrupted” SOUL. His very being was brutally and forcefully shifted, starting with his mind and ending with his very core, his SOUL. It being out in the open and, well, a literal target, makes me assume this is a weak point. I am under the assumption that SOULs are a very touchy topic for this man.

Cross: Cross had a SOUL that could be assumed normal, but he is also a creation of X!gaster. (I didn’t represent his actual SOUL oops) he has been shown to be out of the norm in terms of his existence/SOUL. To take it a step further, when he is fused with the soul of Chara,human and DETERMINATION, he only posses half of a monster SOUL. Either way his essence is very much different then that of “natural” monsters, I think it’s pretty self explanatory

Horror: this one can go two ways. A lot of horrortale fans interpret horrors eye, his source of magic, a representation of his SOUL. It makes a lot of sense within the comic and story. Thus we could obviously see that an eye and a SOUL are very different. However it could be argued that “source of magic” and “essence of being” aren’t the same. A lot of the fandom also interprets horrors SOUL separately, and a fair assumption is made that his SOUL is either shrunken or sickly in appearance in this case. This makes sense due to horrors lack of/small amount of magic, his body learning to regulate itself without proper nutrients to keep his magic going.

Dust: Dust has the most natural monster SOUL of the group. We can assume that monsters who have attained high LV, such as Dust, also have altered SOULs, especially when we consider how violence is out of a monsters default nature. That said, monsters are ABLE to gain LV, so it isn’t some anomaly. One could also consider Dust attaining “new traits” to affect his soul. What I mean is it can be interpreted that, Dust having lost JUSTICE and gained DETERMINATION, along with the usual PATIENCE (supposed to be cyan lol) , his soul would probably also reflect these changes. We can call into question how much DETERMINATION Dust actually possess? Is it dangerous? Again, it still doesn’t alter his actual MONSTER SOUL much

(I’d also like to point out, I think it’s cool that red (DT) and blue (patience) make purple (perseverance) which is the color of dust’s magic…I think it’s interesting 🤷🏽‍♀️)

They probably wouldn’t know what to make of the others SOULs, as they are all so drastically different. If something were to happen to one of them…would they even know what to do?

All that to say, I’m interested to hear other people’s thoughts or headcanons on this, and I want to see more of this explored!!!

Transcript: I like horrortale, it's sans is easily one of the better written and interesting au sanses, but the entire au is dragged down for me by how it writes alphys and undyne. Undynes main character trait is loving her people, she's very much not going to be the type (even in drastic situations) to think of ever sacrificing one of them. And it also makes alphys look irrational as well and then lobotomies her so sans can have a cool moment.

It's a good au but I really hate how it writes for it's female characters as it Cleary doesn't understand them or what they stand for. If it was underfell undyne it would sort of make sense but the way the au markets itself as an after neutral au and then drastically makes undyne a worse person and a dictator grosses me out. It understands sans is a nice person at his core but it can't understand that undyne is?? Like the entire au hinges on horrifically mischaracterizing her when flowey is right there to be the evil one. (I also don't like how he's characterized in it, he's much to nice and not the mean little depressed gamer brat I love. Why is he so wimpy in it...) honestly if the au didn't claim to be an after neutral one or it took place as an au where monster were always kind of off I wouldn't have any complaints but I can't stand how it wrote undyne. It's like it gave her the dustsans treatment and removed every important part of her character except for her being kind of brash and it ramped that up by 1000x.

maybe it's because they'd hate each other? it can't be because they're the same person, I shipped murder x killer before, but for some reason this feels weird to me. to give some reasoning the main way I've seen it is due to a toxic friend so maybe it's personal? idk all I do know is that it irks me so much I block someone of they draw it

(Classic, BlackBerry [Berry], Caramel [Horror tale Papyrus])

CLASSIC: (setting- after freeing the monsters)

He was always interested in you the moment he saw you wandering alone in the mountains, wearing a hood on your head.

Why was he even there? It was a family trip, everyone went to go hiking to the mountains. Of course he was cheating and teleported to the destination 😂✋

Anyways, right after he saw you, he carefully approached you..this got you very wary.

Long story short, you tripped and the hood on your head slipped, revealing your snake covered hair...

You both had VERY different reactions. Sans looked amazed, and his cheeks tinted slightly blue, while you looked at him afraid.

You were worried he'll turn into stone, so you tried to pull the hood over your head once more, but his skeleton hands stopped you, taking you by surprise.

You both just stared at the other. "... What's wrong? Why're you trying to hide who you are??" "I'm a Medusa! People who look at me turn into stone!" You quickly darted your eyes away from his gaze. "But I'm still here...am I not?"

He's a skeleton. Your curse doesn't affect him, since he only has eye sockets. 😂

After this, Sans visited you almost every day. He was so sweet, he doesn't want to leave you alone in the mountains.

Your negativity towards yourself is really nagging him. He thinks you're gorgeous! What do you mean you hate your 'hair'?

Constantly hyping you up! He just wants to be there for you girly 😉

He loves the snakes! They're always happy to see him ^^

Sans is a little lovesick when it comes to you, you're just so amazing to him!

When you two get together, he thinks he's the luckiest skeleton in the world! Literally no one can ruin this for him! (Except the resets 😢)

You're just happy to finally be able to talk to someone without the fear of turning them into stone.

"What in the fish sticks is happening?? WHO ARE YOU?!" You flinched when you heard his voice. He sounded so demanding...

You and his brother, Papyrus, were standing on his doorstep, chatting. He couldn't help but grumble at the sight. What gives you the right to stand on HIS own doorstep, not properly talking to him?? Like.. what's up with the hood over your head?

So...Berry doesn't have much knowledge of "privacy"... So what is the second thing he does after yelling at you?? Yup. Pulling your hood down. Revealing your snake covered head, resembling hair.

You screeched loudly, desperately trying to cover your head, before any of the two turn into stone.

While trying to get a hold of your hood, which was still in Berry's hold, the skeleton in question just...stared at you. Full with questions, but also... he's never seen such beautiful hair!

He doesn't let his shyness show, but his brother can very much see it. He just smirks at him, which makes Berry shoot him a glare.

"You have such beautiful hair...." He suddenly spoke these words, which made you stop jumping up and down to get your hood back. You stared at him in shock.. "You... don't think it's gross..? Or...weird?" He smirks at your question, leaning down to your level. "No, darling...I say that it just makes you more complete...."

RECOILED. DOWN BAD. DROOLING.

Which was exactly how you both felt about one another.. how cute ❤️

You explained to Berry how Papyrus is your friend, and that you were just parting ways when he came in. This made Berry kinda guilty about shouting at you earlier...but not much. Since...you know... he's a little crazy 💀

After this whole ordeal, whenever you were hanging out with Papyrus, Berry silently watched you, eyes focused only on you.

He quickly became obsessed with you, it was just something about your nature. And he admired that despite your curse, you were a very kind person.

Your snakes sometimes felt...wary about him... which made you kinda suspicious. But you didn't dwell on it to much.

You would sometimes find little notes thrown at you by your 'secret admirer'. Which you found cute. They were always complimenting your hair!

That's what Berry's plan is... Sugar coating you from the offside, and then making his grand move! Tell you about his romantic gestures and then confidently ask you out!

It was a crazy plan, but it's not an unusual plan for him. ;)

CARAMEL (HT Papyrus):

One day, he was searching for some food, which was hopeless...since the place where he lives in isn't very...rich on food.

He abruptly stopped when he saw a kid enter the underground. Wait... no, it was probably a teenager...and she had some........pretty lady with her!

He watched the lady, who was beside the teen, with stars in his eyes.. for once in his life..he felt truly..happy. Huh.. that's odd. Never felt anything like it before.

After awhile of gawking at the lady, covered in a hood over her head with a blush across his face, he snapped out of it, going towards them. He decided to greet them.

He quickly learned the kid- teen's Name is Aliza, and the lady beside her was Y/n.

"Y/n.... it's a very pretty name! Suits for such a pretty lady as you..." You couldn't help but blush deep red at that, the way he was so sweet, yet so scarily looking, made you quite distracted, as you didn't notice him and his approaching hands towering over your hood.. "May I..?" Normally, you would've said no. But this time...you felt very comfortable around him, which you were one hundred percent sure he was going for. You felt at ease around him, so you nodded for him to take off your hood. You could see, from the corners of your eyes, that Aliza covered her eyes when she saw that, thank the heavens...you wouldn't want for her to be turned to stone.

After he took off your hood, your nervousness appeared again. Making you feel embarrassed about your hair...

You expected some sort of reaction. And not a pretty one..but it did rather surprised you when you saw that Papyrus just stared at you, his eyes shining more brightly. You looked at him, quite hesitant. "You must be the prettiest being I have ever laid my eyes upon...." Your cheeks flushed red from the sudden compliment, which his did too, after processing what he just said to you. You both just stared at each other...taking the other one's appearance in, as if you wouldn't see each other again..

You moment was interrupted by Aliza, who now wore special sunglasses, not covering her eyes with her hands anymore. "U-Uhm...can y-you help us g-get through here....?" You slightly frowned at the frightened state she was in, and took her hands in yours. Smiling down at her. Papyrus stared at the two of you with soft look..

"Such a mother material..." He noted to himself, muttering, which you didn't heard. It saved him the embarrassment for sure 💀

After this, you sorta became a little like a family.. You and Papyrus as the parents, and Aliza as your kid.. though Papyrus did almost ate Aliza, which you scolded him for.

He literally felt so weak in the knees whenever you were around. Like a little puppy...😭

Your snakes always purr whenever Papyrus comes in the room, which makes you immensely embarrassed...stupid snakes!

Wants you to know just how much he loves your 'hair'. (Which makes the snakes purr over and over again)

Referring to my previous post on Emotional Echolocation Dream (this post), I wanted to share more thoughts on NM's side of his Empathic abiltiies! Just like his twin, Passive NM could feel feelings from an object with some time and focus. Before the gifts to NM trickled into the void, most gifts to NM were trembling with the echoes of a cornered dog, growling with its tail between its legs (most of the time he waited until Dream had wandered to take the gifts from their hiding place. NM refused to let Dream tap into these gifts full of what ifs and a looming bear. Then after collecting them using the gifts as much as possible while thinking of old memories of just Dream and himself atop their hill).

Passive NM could feel a lightness, a joy, in the gifts too, but he often paused with wider eyes. The villager must've been having happy memories of wrapping another childs present. Simple mistakes happen all the time, so Nightmare leaves out these little positive ones to let Dream feel them too. His twins smile mixed with a few claps and dancing toes makes NM grin through the trees of guilt.

After consuming the apples, feeling the emotions inside one specific object became... difficult to say the least. His abilties spanned over au's. Growing large and pulling itself to every corner. Focusing on something as little as a shirt was difficult and a waste of time.

Although, it wasn't something he particularly cared about. Feeling the Negativity directly from the source was much more filling. Nightmare doesn't need to feel the emotions inside an object. He can conclude those for himself afterall. He is quite the horrifying creature for someone to meet inside their safe space. After a century, that mindset changes purely out of bordem(and a little curiosity), he starts practicing on trying to feel specific objects.

Nightmare conculded that one, trying to sense the emotions of something smaller than a chair was simply fruitles. It is near impossible to focus all his powers all at once on such a miniscule and worthless object. Two, it is much simpler to take the average emotion of a building/larger area. For example, to feel everything inside a apartment complex, then put it all in a blender, mix it together, and take a drink that way. It becomes one big glorious rock, full of negativity thanks to the being itself sitting atop their roofs. If the Source of the initial negativity is a main meal, the rock of generalized feelings Nightmare absorbs are dessert(these taste different depending on the AU. Nightmare's favorite AU's at this point in the multiverse consist of Underfells and Horrortales. The length of their despair is so old its engraved into their very existence. The best places to recover after an battle).

Lastly, after another 45 years of experiments, Nightmare made a break through. If all the tentacles were holding different small objects, then his hands held holding another two, with immense focus and time, Nightmare could list the emotions from the individual objects. It would be ineffective in almost any future scenario due to the average length of the operations, he'd write down after, but it is good knowledge to know. He only does anything similar later on if an object holds critical information relating to an AU(emotions tell stories. A pathway full of stones could leave a touch of despair as their vicitm runs) or a member of his gang(Cross is one he used this abilty on once he was back at the castle. There wasn't much to feel in the empty AU, and that made focusing on feeling the papers and pens emotions even easier Nightmare later notes. X-Tale will continue to be useful).

Alright so I got a devastating idea for a horrordust fanfic and I can't stay silent

Disclaimer: suicide

So it goes something like this:

Horror has been working for nightmare(against his will) for a long time now, and things in horrortale are starting to look better, undyne dies and toriel takes back the throne

Nightmare is displeased of course, the negativity in horrortale is starting to disappear, so , in a last pathetic attempt to gain more power, he kills (or at least send killer) the entirety of horrortale, now leaving horror without a home and without a reason to live.

Now he just wants to end it all except for one problem:

Horror is practically immortal , so he can't kill himself or can't be killed , the only way for him to actually die is to ,....well

Have a child

This will need some explaining:

In undertale's canon, boss monsters don't age or die unless they have a child, because then their life force will be sucked out of them to feed their offspring, until they die and the cycle repeats

And yet the only person he could ask to help him is dust

The relationship between them is complicated and mostly follows their canon personalities , if you want to know more about their relationship, I've reposted a post detailing how their canon relationship would go.

But if you want me to shorten It here:

Horror hates dust's guts

Dust feels bad and overprotective of horror and would practically do anything for him

So he agrees (maybe in his fucked up state of mind he thinks of this as some lovers double suicide)

And so they have a child.

WITH SOUL BONDING AND ABSOLUTELY NO SEX INVOLVED

Raising their kid was going to be hard , they will care for him and protect him(especially from nightmare), but only so that he can kill them in return, nothing more, nothing less

Or so they thought

Turns out getting attached to your own bones and magic is hard to avoid

And with their clock ticking away

Maybe they didn't want to die after all

Maybe horror didn't hate dust after all

Maybe this was a bad idea
